Group Installations Assistant Manager 

Responsible to: Head of Retail and Showrooms and Group Installations Manager 

Responsible for: No staff 

Based: Banbury Showroom, Overthorpe Road, Banbury 

Hours of Work: 8.00am to 5.00pm Monday – Friday (30 minute lunch break) 

Job Purpose: To ensure an excellent installations service is provided by managing the project cycle in order to meet customer expectations. 

Key responsibilities and accountabilities: 

  • Liaise with designers at quotation and design stage, if required, providing technical and specification support. Appropriate checklists to be used and adequate time in the diary allowed to: 
  • Carry out technical site surveys 
  • Ensure products and materials for the project are on schedule. 
  • Report deviation from design and report cost implications for management approval 
  • Be available as key contact for clients throughout installation process 
  • Scheduling of the fitting installations 
  • Sign-off installations on completion 
  • Advise Credit Control that the final 5% invoiced can be collected 
  • Manage the complaints process, working with manager and designer, reporting weekly 
  • Manage the remedial process in terms of products and scheduling, take actions to prevent recurrence and report weekly 
  • Organise new product training and technical skills development of fitters 
  • Provide reports and information for management as required 
  • Collect customer feedback and take actions as required to maintain excellent service 
  • Review processes and develop new processes to establish best practice 
  • Keep the installations on track by keeping within the guidelines of our contractual obligations with the client 

Specific skills/qualifications 

  • Able to use Project Management software (SMART) 
  • Project Management skills and experience 
  • Surveying and estimating skills 
  • Technical capability in understanding of all trades i.e. Good understanding of plumbing, heating, electrics etc 
  • Able to interpret technical drawings (including hand drawn) 
  • Previous installations and on site experience essential 
  • Have an understanding of the building processes and building control (regulations) 
  • Excellent at scheduling, planning and organisation 
  • Able to interface with clients and deal with client problems 
  • Manage all sub-contractors
