Vacancy Description

Our Client is one of the UK’s leading suppliers of HARDWOOD & SOFTWOOD TIMBER & TIMBER PRODUCTS who, due to expansion, are looking to appoint a National Sales Manager.

Our Clients products are very high quality whilst being competitively price and due to their decades of experience they have a wealth of knowledge of both hardwood & softwood trading.

Reporting To Sales Director

The Role

You will be responsible for assisting and developing the External Sales Force (currently 8 no.) by identifying key areas for improvement and training requirements and implementing agreeing strategies to assist them in their duties along with setting and monitoring key performance indicators and reporting information and strategies adopted to the  Sales Director.

Ideally you will be currently in a role that involves sales of Timber and Timber products, and are experienced in selling to National and Independent Builders Merchants, Building Contractors, Joiners & Shopfitters and Architects & Specifiers throughout the UK on a National basis along with having successful trading experience of Buying Groups etc.

The Person

You will be self-motivated, with the ability to work on your own initiative and a desire to bring your previous commercial expertise to effective use in the commercial arena.

Ideally, you will have a background in Hardwoods, softwoods and machined products.

Our Client is willing to consider Candidates who have the required experience and success at Regional or National level and are seeking to further their career and secure a Management Role.

As this is a National Field Sales Manager role you will be required to spend an amount of time in each geographical region of the UK, therefore you should be prepared to stay away from home as required.
