Quality Manager

This is the role:

To manage and lead the Quality Team.
To provide an efficient service to the organisation by supplying the reporting systems, tools, training and resource required to;
Ensure compliance with ROCKWOOL claims in Specifications, European and International Standards, Product Approvals and Certification.
Support all Product and Process development through the testing of materials, Statistical Analysis and Reporting.
Supply Test Data and Product Samples to the Technical and Marketing divisions to maintain and renew Product certification.
To operate in accordance with ISO9001 ;2015 systems
To manage customer complaint process in conjunction with customer services in relation to operations complaints.
To conduct duties as required within boundaries of role

Management:

Manage the Quality Department, ensuring the effective provision of resources are applied for achieving the department objectives whilst within budgeted levels.
Ensure that members of the department understand their roles and contribution to achieving the company strategy through regular communications, development of team members and performance reviews to review goals
Ensure the organisation is kept informed of risks to business associated with Quality matters.
Ensure for all personnel related activities that the correct documentation, records and systems are maintained in line with HR policies.

Quality compliance:

Ensure control plans are available and meet the requirements of Standards, EN and others, for frequency of testing.
Ensure internal test methods are available, in compliance with EN and other test methods
Ensure lambda compliance with claims through sampling plans and monthly analysis of data
Ensure provision of a calibration plan for all test equipment, at a frequency that meets the requirements of EN13172 and ROCKWOOL International.
Ensure provision of equipment for quality control laboratory
Assist production management in ensuring that quality control operators in production teams are competent in quality control testing of products
Analyse results using statistical tools and report on trends
Ensure quality parameters are reported as required to Business Development, Process Services, Technical Marketing, Technical Operations and others as appropriate
Provide samples for testing at Notified laboratories and approval bodies when required by Marketing
Supervise the preparation of a control plan for raw materials testing, including raw materials for briquettes and finished briquettes
Provision of Certificates of conformity where a DOP is not sufficient
Testing of any customer complaint material returned for investigation
Manage the process, sampling program, testing and reporting in accordance with EUCEB requirements

Product development and Certification:

Liaise with Business Development and Process Service staff regarding product and process development and to provide the necessary test plans and resource required to ensure adequate evaluation through testing and analysis
Ensure product, in conjunction with Production and Process, to be sent for external assessment is fully compliant to specification

Reporting:

Ensure reports are provided for daily, weekly, monthly and annual routine quality reports
To authorise all reports for submission to internal and external bodies
Ensure all defect material (DMR) is investigated and findings reported to Logistics and GSP.
Ensure reporting in line with EUCEB requirements

Internal relations:

Across the organisation with particular focus on provision of standard operating procedures and training for operation staff with regard to Quality of product
Supply Product Samples to the Sales and Marketing divisions to assist with Customer Relations (e.g. Customer Systems Approval tests, Potential New Business, etc.).
Work with Quality Assurance Manager to establish required compliance plans are in place
To work with Production Management, Business Process, Technical, Product Managers, Logistics, Purchasing and other relevant departments in relation to relevant Quality matters.

External relations:

To attend ROCKWOOL International Quality meetings as required
Provide primary point of operations contact with third party assessment bodies for product certification e.g. BSI, BBA, ACERMI, CSTB, FIW, LPCB.
Provide a point of contact with customers and suppliers for queries as appropriate

Qualification to degree level would be desirable but knowledge and experience necessary to perform the role can be attained through learning and experience at work. The job holder must have detailed specific knowledge related to the role especially concerning:

Product Standards such as British and ISO
Factory Production Control/Quality Control Systems
IT systems for reporting PFC and QC data (knowledge of SAP)
Practical implementation of risk assessments
Management skills
Communication and training skills
ISO9001 Quality Management System
