Merchant Careers floats through London

Merchant Careers is a BMF initiative to encourage young school and further education leavers and job seekers to consider a career in the builders merchants industry. The Builders Merchant Careers website is fast becoming a resource of valuable information and listing job vacancies within the industry.

To promote Merchant Careers and the Builders Merchant industry in the capital the Worshipful Company of Builders Merchants have organised a float at the 2016 London Lord Mayor’s Show on the 12th November.

The core theme of the float is to highlight the importance of builders’ merchants and also the many possible career opportunities in our industry. The float will consist of an artic lorry, a Merchant Master teletruck and walkers holding placards with key messages, as well as walkers in costumes representing various building materials.

John Newcomb, Managing Director of the Builders Merchants Federation commented:
“We believe that this campaign, the biggest initiative of its kind ever undertaken by the BMF, will be the driving force behind attracting more young people into the sector and helping builders merchants and suppliers to continue to invest in the next generation – providing rewarding careers for those willing to work hard. With opportunities across disciplines, from drivers and customer service, to HR and design services, from first job roles all the way to the board room, there really are great opportunities to meet young peoples’ aspirations at every level.”

Make sure you look out for us at the show. It promises to be a truly eye-catching spectacle.
